Seraphim Classics Angels collectors can find the answers to some of their top questions such as the definition of limited edition, retired, closed, prototype, and seraphim classic angels membership figurines. Q. What does "limited edition" mean?
A. A limited edition is a collectible created with a predetermined cutoff. Editions can be limited to a certain number of pieces or to a time period of production.
Q. What is the difference between a closed edition and a retirement?
A. When a limited edition reaches its predetermined cutoff, it becomes a "closed edition." Once the edition is closed, Roman will never again produce that same piece.
A retirement happens when a piece from the regular collection, will no longer be produced. Roman may have a small number of that piece in stock, and retailers may order them until they are sold out. Q. When does Roman announce their retirements?
A. Roman seems to announces their latest retirements semi-annually in December/January and again in June. You can find this information on our Latest News page.
Q. What are catalog exclusives?
A. A catalog exclusive is available to Seraphim Classics Authorized Dealers that participate in a catalog program and/or that are mail-order accounts who print their own catalog.
Q. What is a Club Membership Figurine?
A. The Seraphim Classics Collector's Club releases a Symbol Of Membership as part of their Membership Kit and a Member's Only Figure annually that can be purchased at a special price to their members. See the Seraphim Classics Angels Collector's Club for further information or to join.
Q. What is a Prototype?
A. During the crafting process, Roman produces prototype figurines for approval. After changes are made to the figurine during the design process and it is approved, it is produced and released to retailers. Some prototypes may look identical to the produced angel thus being an "approved prototype" others may have some differences from the "official" figurine as changes were then made after the prototype was created. Since prototypes are not official figures, they are not stamped, include gold tags, boxes, or papers.
Q. What is the benefit of having my figurines signed?
A. The signature of the Master Sculptor will add to the collectibility of your angels. And, since Master Sculptor Ho rarely tours, a limited number of lucky collectors had the opportunity to get their figuries signed. Thus, those signed pieces will be rare indeed.
Q. My figurine did not come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Where can I get this certificate?
A. If purchased from The Curio Cabinett, Inc, you can notify us or you can call Roman at 1-800-729-7662 and speak with their Corporate Customer Relations department. You may also e-mail Seraphim Classics be sure to include your full name and address for mailing purposes. However, please note that some of the older figurines did not come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Q. Can I get the information regarding the secondary or appraised value of my collection from The Curio Cabinett, Inc or Roman?
A. When searching for the value of an item you will need to turn to the secondary market. As a retailer, The Curio Cabinett, Inc and Roman, Inc. as an importer/producer, cannot provide any information on the secondary market value of your angels. However, you may wish to contact the Collectors Information Bureau. CIB deals in the secondary market of all collectibles and can be reached at:

Q. Can I request a catalogue from the Curio Cabinett?
A. The Curio Cabinett does not produce our own catalogues but we have 2005/2006 Seraphim and 2005 Fontanini Classics catalogues available for purchase which includes a credit voucher toward your first order.
